General Tour Information

What makes this Algeria group tour special?
Our 11-day Algeria Group Tour Adventure offers an authentic experience of one of North Africa's least visited countries. You'll explore UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient Roman ruins, stunning Sahara landscapes, and traditional oasis towns with expert local guides. We provide personalized service with small group sizes for an intimate experience.
What is the group size for this tour?
We maintain small group sizes to ensure personalized attention and authentic experiences. This group tour will have a minimum of 5 travellers and a maximum group size of 12 travellers. We believe this 5-12 group size allows for flexibility and meaningful interactions with local communities.
What level of physical fitness is required?
This tour involves moderate walking through archaeological sites, climbing sand dunes (only if you want to), and exploring narrow alleyways in historic towns. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Most activities can be adapted for different mobility levels - please discuss any concerns when booking.

Visa & Travel Requirements

Do I need a visa to visit Algeria?
This tour qualifies for an Algerian tourist visa on arrival because more than 70% of this tour is in the southern Algerian region. You will be required to pay for the tourist visa in cash upon arrival. The visa-on-arrival fees will vary depending on the number of days you are staying in Algeria. Visit our visa information page for detailed requirements and the visa-on-arrival process.
Is it safe to travel to Algeria?
All our Algeria tours are operating as usual and all sites on our tour itineraries are open for tourism. Our expert guides understand local conditions and security situations. With every Algeria tour, our Algerian travel partner submits all necessary travel documents to local authorities. To be certain of your safety, local governments require us to arrange security escorts in many regions even when there is no risk. Security escorts will travel in their own vehicle so you can be assured there will be no security accompanying you in the tour vehicle. If you are traveling between cities, you will likely experience several “changing of the guards” as new security escorts will be waiting at regional borders along the way. It is not uncommon to witness an animated conversation between your driver and the security escort as they check-in. At many site visits outside major cities, you can expect armed guards and/or police escorts to accompany you. Being accompanied by security escorts does not mean that there are imminent threats. This is a normal practice in Algeria and a sign of commitment to peace and security in their nation.
What documents do I need?
You'll need a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity) and the official letter from our Algerian partner for the visa-on-arrival. We recommend bringing copies of all important documents.

We use carefully selected accommodations ranging from 3-4 star hotels to superior guesthouses. You can submit an inquiry to receive an updated tour itinerary listed with the accommodation for each day.
