Arrival in Algiers

The Grand Poste in Downtown Algiers
Arrive in Algiers and transfer to your hotel for two nights.
If you have an earlier arrival, your guide will take you on an afternoon orientation tour of the city, which may include site visits to the Place des Martyrs (17th century El Djedid Mosque), and the Grande Poste.

Algiers - Tipaza - Cherchell - Tomb of the Christians - Algiers

Tipaza Roman ruins on the Algerian coast
After breakfast, you will depart for Cherchell, which was once the capital of the Numidian kingdoms. Take a guided tour of the museum before traveling to your next destination, the UNESCO World Heritage Roman site of Tipaza. Tipaza is arguably one of the most picturesque Roman cities in North Africa. Stroll down the ancient Roman road next to the clear Mediterranean Sea and get a glimpse of what it would have been like to live in this Roman settlement. Here you will visit the museum and the archeological site, which includes the largest basilica in North Africa
When you are ready you will travel back to Algiers. On the way, you will explore the pyramid-like structure of the Tomb of the Christian (Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania).
When you are ready, return to Algiers for the night.

Algiers - Timimoun
Today you will transfer to the Algiers airport to take a domestic flight to Timimoun. If your flight is in the afternoon, then you’ll take a half-day guided tour in Algiers.
Upon arrival in Timimoun, you’ll meet your driver and transfer to the guesthouse for dinner and the night.

After breakfast, you will visit the beautiful palmery, the ‘red’ building architecture, dunes, the 9th century hillside Ksour, and the fascinating caves and village of Tindjillet.
When you are ready, return to Timimoun for the night.

Today you will begin the day with a trip to Beni Abbes, a village found in the 11th century. Here you will visit the historic Hermitage of Father Charles de Foucauld.
Once you are ready, continue to Taghit which is also known as “the pearl of the Sahara”. Spend the night in this beautiful Sahara town.

Ksar & Oasis in Taghit
Taghit has a reputation as one of the most beautiful Oasis towns in the Sahara region. Taghit is the beginning of a 600km stretch of dunes forming the Great Erg Occidental. Be sure you climb up the imposing dunes of the Grand Erg.
Next, you will visit Ksar Taghit, the historic fortified town of Taghit. Walk through the old town with its mud-brick houses and narrow alleyways.
When you are finished exploring the town, you will venture outside of town to a rocky area with ancient petroglyph engravings depicting animals that once lived in this area. Return to Taghit for the night.

Today you will travel to Bechar for your departure flight to Algiers.
If you have time before your flight, your guide will take you to the market in Bechar.
Upon arrival in the Algiers capital, you will meet your guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
