Arrival - Algiers

Basilic Notre Dame d'Afrique in Algiers, Algeria
Arrive to the historic city of Algiers and transfer to the hotel.
If you have a morning arrival, your guide will take you on a city tour, which may include the historic Notre Dame d’Afrique, Palais des Rais, and a visit to the Bardo museum, which is set in a beautiful Moorish villa.

Algiers - Tipaza - Cherchell - Tomb of the Christian - Algiers
After breakfast, you will depart for the UNESCO World Heritage Roman site of Tipaza. This is arguably one of the most picturesque archaeological sites in the country. Located beside the clear Mediterranean Sea and mountains, Tipaza was originally founded by the Phoenicians and later became an important commercial center for the Romans. Explore the archeological site, which includes the largest basilica in North Africa and the Basilica of St Salsa, who was a local martyr in the 4th century.
Continue to Cherchell to visit two archaeological museums. When you are ready, you will travel back to Algiers.
On the way, you will explore the pyramid-like structure, Tomb of the Christian (royal mausoleum of Mauritania).

Algiers - Setif - Djemila - Constantine
Today you will have an early morning departure in order to wind through the beautiful Kabilye mountain range . Stop in Setif to see National Museum of Archaeology which hosts the remarkable and intact mosaic, the Triumph of Dionysos. After the museum, you will travel to Djemila.
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Djemila, means ‘Beautiful’ in Arabic. The site lives up to its name as it is uniquely situated amongst rolling hills. You will have a guided visit of both the museum and the historic site. Explore the forum, basilicas, baptisteries, arch of Caracalla, Temple des Septimes, well-preserved Roman market, and theatre.
Continue to Constantine for night.

Constantine - Tiddis - Constantine

Sidi Rachid Bridge in Constantine
After breakfast travel to the hillside Roman site of Tiddis. At the entrance to the site you will walk through the triumphal arch and pass by the sanctuary of Mithras. Your tour guide will point out the Christian basilica and the Roman houses.
Later in the morning, return back to Constantine for a city tour. Located above the Rhumel Gorge, Constantine has a view that is sure to impress. Some of the sites you will visit may include the museum of Cirta, the suspension bridges, the Kasbah, and Palace of Ahmed Bey.

Constantine - Timgad - Lambaesis - Batna
You will want to get an early start today to travel south to the unforgettable historical and archaeological sites of Timgad and Lambaesis. Before you reach Timgad, you will make a brief stop to explore Medracen (Ancient Numidian Tomb), which is 58 meters in diameter and 19 meters tall.
Then travel to the UNESCO site of Timgad, begun by Emperor Trajan in AD100. Your tour guide will take you to the most important sites including the library, temples, amphitheater, arch of Trajan, forum, houses, and basilicas. There is a fantastic museum at the site with grand mosaics found in the region.
If you have time in the day, visit the large Roman legionary located at Lambaesis.

Batna - Ghoufi - Gorge - Batna
After breakfast, you will travel south through the impressive ‘Grand Canyon’ of Algeria, the Balcons de Ghoufi. Often unvisited by both foreign and local tourists, this circuit through unforgettable natural beauty and historical sites is well worth the visit! Here you will see some of the troglodyte homes built into the side of the mountain. Enjoy the beautiful ravines, palm trees, and traditional villages. Return back to Batna for night.

Batna - Algiers - Ghardaia
Today you will take a flight to Algiers from Batna or Constantine and then transfer to a flight to Ghardaia. If you have time between your arrival to Algiers and departure to Ghardaia you will explore historic sites in Algiers.
Ghardaia is in the UNESCO World Heritage region of the M’Zab valley. You will transfer to your hotel and if time is available, explore the markets and architecture which is unique to this region.
