Arrival - Algiers
Arrive in Algiers and transfer to your hotel for two nights.
If you have an earlier arrival, your guide will take you on an afternoon tour of the city, which may include site visits to the Place des Martyrs (17th century El Djedid Mosque), Bastion 23, and the Grande Poste.

Algiers - Tipaza - Tomb of the Christian - Algiers

Tomb of the Christian

After breakfast, you will depart for the UNESCO World Heritage Roman site of Tipaza. This is arguably one of the most picturesque archaeological sites in the country. Located beside the clear Mediterranean Sea and mountains, Tipaza was originally founded by the Phoenicians and later became an important commercial center for the Romans. Explore the archeological site, which includes the largest basilica in North Africa and the Basilica of St Salsa, who was a local martyr in the 4th century. Visit the small museum before traveling back to Algiers.
On the way, stop at the tomb like structure, the Tombeau de la Chrétienne (royal mausoleum of Mauritania).
Take an evening flight to Constantine and upon arrival transfer to your hotel for night.

Constantine - Timgad - Lambaesis - Constantine
Today you will drive from Constantine to Timgad and explore this site and museum. Here you will discover the library, temples, amphitheater, and arch of Trajan. After this, your group may want to have lunch and then travel to Lambaesis to see the large structure of the legionary base. Return back to Constantine for night. Accommodation: Hotel Hazem 3-star (best available hotel)

After breakfast, you will travel south to the hillside site of Tiddis and take a guided tour. At the entrance to the site, you will walk through the triumphal arch and pass by the sanctuary of Mithras. Your tour guide will point out the Christian basilica and the Roman houses.
Later in the afternoon, travel to Constantine for a city tour. Located above the Rhumel Gorge, Constantine has a view that is sure to impress. Some of the sites you will visit may include the museum of Cirta, the suspension bridges, the Kasbah, and Palace of Ahmed Bey.

Constantine - Algiers - Djanet
In the morning fly back to Algiers and then take an evening flight to Djanet in southern Algeria. Arrive to Djanet (oasis town at foot of Tassili mountains on edge of vast sand dunes of Erg Admer).
Meet your local guide and overnight in a local guesthouse.

Djanet - Tadrart - D'in-Djarena
Depart in 4x4 for Tadrart. Here you will explore the extraordinary landscape of desert mountains, canyons, rock arches, towering sand dunes, and cave and rock paintings (12,000 BC to 100 AD), which depict cattle, giraffes, and people.
Dinner and camping will be in the canyon of D’In-Djarena, which is surrounded by dunes. This will be your first night under Saharan stars.

Tadrart - El Biredj - Moul El Naga

Continue through Tadrart along El Biredj along the wide desert canyon and valley to the beautiful orange dunes found at Moul el Naga.

Today you will continue in a 4X4 and take in more natural beauty and landscapes in Zouatane. Your guide will also take you to see more rock art.

Zouatane - Tin Merzouga
After breakfast head for the Red Dunes, located up to 1,800 ft high. Travel to Tin Merzouga and take excursions to the region's most stunning rock arches (including the "hedgehog").

Tin Merzouga - Tilfazou - Oued Amais
Continue on today in the spectacular Sahara region to the locations of Tilfazou and Oued Amais. You will go and see the famous ‘cow painting’ that is found in this region. Enjoy your final night camping in the Sahara.

Oued Amais - Djanet

Return to Djanet for lunch and take time to explore the unforgettable colourful market and taste the local dates. Do not forget to purchase a cheche (Touareg turban), before returning back to Algiers.
You will have a farewell dinner and rest in local camp or guesthouse.

Djanet - Algiers
Depart (often middle of the night) on a flight back to Algiers. Once you arrive back to Algiers you may want to transfer to a hotel for some rest. If you have energy for a tour, we recommend an additional city tour in Algiers.

Your guide will take you to the airport for your departure flight.
