Arrival in Algiers

Arrive in Algiers and transfer to your hotel for two nights.

If you have an earlier arrival, your guide will take you on an afternoon orientation tour of the city, which may include site visits to the Place des Martyrs (17th century El Djedid Mosque), and the Grande Poste.

Archeology museum with Roman mosaics and sculptures in Cherchell

After breakfast, you will depart for Cherchell, which was once the capital of the Numidian kingdoms. Take a guided tour of the museum before traveling to your next destination, the UNESCO World Heritage Roman site of Tipaza. Tipaza is arguably one of the most picturesque Roman cities in North Africa. Stroll down the ancient Roman road next to the clear Mediterranean Sea and get a glimpse of what it would have been like to live in this Roman settlement. Here you will visit the museum and the archeological site, which includes the largest basilica in North Africa

When you are ready you will travel back to Algiers. On the way, you will explore the pyramid-like structure of the Tomb of the Christian (Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania).

When you are ready, return to Algiers for the night.

Algiers - Ghardaia

Today you will take a flight to Ghardaïa, which is located in the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage region of the M’Zab valley. You will transfer to your hotel and if time is available, explore the markets and architecture which is unique to this region.

Full Day in the M'zab Valley

Step back into time as you enjoy the local customs and culture. Visit the historic cities and sites in the M’Zab Valley such as Ghardaia and Beni Isguen. Your guide will take you through traditional marketplaces, fully rich in culture and unique architecture. Spend the day wandering the narrow streets, visiting important religious monuments and mosques, and enjoying the natural beauty found in this Oasis region.

M'Zab Valley - El Ménia
Today you will have a half-day visit in the M’Zab valley. Visit traditional markets, enjoy the lively atmosphere colors, and unique architecture. You will explore important religious monuments and mosques, while admiring this region’s natural beauty.  In the afternoon drive to El Ménia for night. Accommodation: 4-star hotel

Drive to Timmimoun

Enjoy a relaxed morning. When you are ready you will journey across the wild beauty of the Sahara region to the small Oasis town of Timimoun.

After breakfast, you will visit the beautiful palmary, the ‘red’ building architecture, dunes, the 9th century hillside Ksour, and the fascinating caves and village of Tindjillet.

When you are ready, return to Timimoun for the night.

Timimoun - Beni Abbes - Taghit

Today you will begin the day with a trip to the Beni Abbes, a village found in the 11th century. Here you will also visit the historic Hermitage of Father Charles de Foucauld.

Once you are ready, continue to the beautiful town of Taghit for the night.

Desert oasis of Taghit

Desert oasis of Taghit surrounded by sand dunes

Taghit is said to be one of the most beautiful Oasis towns in the Sahara region. You will visit the Old Ksar (fort) and walk through the old town with the mud-brick houses and narrow alleyways. Be sure you climb up the imposing dunes or the Grand Erg.

Continue with your tour to see the unique cave paintings (camels and ostriches). Taghit is the beginning of a 600km stretch of dunes forming the Great Erg Occidental.

Taghit - Bechar - Algiers

Today you will travel to Bechar for your departure flight to Algiers.

If you have time before your flight, your guide will take you to the market in Bechar.

Meet your guide at the airport in Algiers and transfer back to your hotel.

Full Day in Algiers

Today you will have a full day city tour with your guide. You may start the day off exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah and wind your way through the labyrinth of streets and alleys. Enjoy learning about its ancient past as you visit ancient mosques and museums.

In the afternoon, you may have time to visit the Bardo Museum or the Museum of Archaeology and Islamic Art.
